A View from the Road—July 2016

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges."
In some cases you do need your badges. At the Highway School we use your badges to track attendance and to determine the Road Scholar Counties. Because several folks picked up their badges late, three counties did not get Road Scholar recognition at Highway School: Montgomery, Erie, and Cayuga. With these three counties added, a total of 16 counties met the thresholds and are Road Scholar Counties for 2016. Congratulations!
Highway School is a week later than typical in 2017: June 12-14. Make your plans now to attend and see if you can challenge our top three Superior Road Scholar Counties:
Walk-Bike New York: A Liveable Communities Symposium
There is a strong demand for communities where people of all ages and abilities can safely and comfortably walk and bike. Creating walkable and bikeable environments requires the active collaboration of people with interests in safety, land use, economic development, transportation, education, law enforcement and health promotion. This symposium will bring together people from these various disciplines and provide participants with the tools to work together to create walkable and bikeable communities in the State of New York.
