Are there new sizes for work zone signs?

With the introduction of the 2009 National MUTCD, many of the sizes for warning signs have been changed. All diamond shaped signs in work zones have had their standard size increased from 30” x 30” to 36” x 36”. Those specifically that have been increased are as follows:

Generally, all existing 36” x 36” signs have remained the same size, however, to be certain of whether your temporary traffic control (TTC) signs are adequate in size, please refer to Table 6F-1 in the MUTCD and the NYS Supplement. Other changes in warning sign sizes for other shapes may also be found in Table 6F-1.
