I don't live in a watershed; why do I need to worry about stormwater management?

This is a misconception that often occurs since we all live in a watershed. If the rain or snow falls where you are and the moisture either soaks into the ground or flows away from the site by way of a creek, stream, river or ditch, you are in a watershed.

Everyone should understand and consider the elements of a Stormwater Management Plan. Considering the drainage area and looking beyond the political boundaries when evaluating stormwater issues, particularly related to infrastructure, will help everyone within that watershed to work together to reduce or minimize the impacts to others downstream.
