Is there a requirement that the doctor doing the examination for a CDL license be certified?

As of May 21, 2014 the examination for a CDL license must be done by a certified medical examiner. Note that the examiner does not have to be a doctor, but can be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant. It does take about 6 months to go through the process to be certified. Details on the requirements are on the website listed below.
