Road Master Program - Update and Changes
(Posted 12-15-2008)
Road Master Past...
For ten years the Road Master Recognition Program has been a way for highway and public works officials, and others, to receive recognition for participating in Cornell Local Roads Program workshops. A prescribed number of selected workshops, designated as Core or Optional topics, were required to reach Level I and Level II of the Road Master Program.
Road Master Present...
We are happy to announce that the Road Master Program has been redesigned and simplified. We have done away with the Core and Optional workshop classifications. Now, any of our Road Master workshops will count towards both achievement levels. What is a ‘Road Master’ workshop? As before, most, but not all, of our workshops qualify for Road Master credit. Every workshop registration form (mailed flyers and web postings) tells if that workshop qualifies. The current qualified workshops are listed to the right.
To achieve Level I, now you just need to take six different Road Master workshops, any six. That’s it! To reach Level II you need to first achieve Level I and then take four more different credited workshops, for a total of ten.
As a result of these new changes, some of you may have automatically achieved Road Master Level I or II. We will mail updated transcripts to all Road Master enrollees as soon as possible after the New Year, to notify you of your status.
How to Enroll:
Print and/or complete the enrollment form and either submit it online or mail it to us at the address on the form. Include the $10 enrollment fee, or mail it separately if submitting the form online or by fax. Please make checks payable to "Cornell Local Roads Program."
When we receive your application form and $10 enrollment fee, we will send you a confirmation letter. We will also send a transcript of the workshops you have attended, which we will credit toward your Road Master record. We will send you an updated transcript of your record every year.
