If you said they are acronyms for the last 3 Federal Highway/Transportation bills you know your highway bill lingo. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first Federal Highway bill: the Federal Aid Road Act of 1916. This first of many federal highway and transportation bills provided funding with a long-term national focus for improving and maintaining our highway infrastructure. The latest act, the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act) provides funding for 5 years.

CAMP Summer Intern Project

We are currently taking reservations for the 2016 CAMP intern project. CLRP partners engineering students with municipalities to create a pavement management plan. Interest is high and space is limited, so get in quick if you want to be a part of this year’s project.

The Town of Ulysses is looking for applicants for the position of Interim Highway Superintendent. This administrative position is responsible for supervising the activities and operation of the Highway Department which includes maintaining highways, bridges, waterways and water systems as well as supervising the highway employees.
