If my department identifies additional miles of road under our jurisdiction that were not previously accounted for, how is this mileage acknowledged, verified, and accounted for when we apply for CHIPS funding?

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has a process for local jurisdictions to update their road inventory in the Local Highway Inventory (LHI) Manual and the LHI instructions.

The process for updating your highway inventory starts on page 11 of the LHI manual and states that following local certification and documentation of your mileage updates, the NYSDOT Regional and Main Offices will conduct reviews before finalizing your CHIPS inputs.
